Beginning July 31st, Three Square is bringing back evening volunteer opportunities. 

Evening volunteer opportunities will be available on Mondays from 5:00-7:00pm in the Volunteer Room. Please know since this particular timeslot is in high demand, it will be treated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Individual volunteers must sign up on their own, via their volunteer account. Group volunteers will need to email Volunteers@threesquare.org in order to schedule their team to volunteer. 

The Stay in School Mentoring Project (SISMP) matches volunteers from the community across a broad spectrum of professions with students that need guidance and support to help them be successful in and out of school.                       

Mentors meet with the students, during school hours twice per month. The emphasis is not on tutoring, but rather on spending quality time talking, setting goals, and guiding the student on the importance of education and their well-being.  Mentors may meet with their mentee in person on school grounds, virtually via Google Meet or a combination of both. Mentors can play games, share hobbies, and connect through conversation to build a trusting relationship with their mentee.  The focus is to develop a relationship and to enhance the student’s self-esteem and confidence in his or her ability to be successful in school.  The goal is to encourage the student to remain in school through graduation and beyond. 

Elizondo Elementary needs volunteers for recess duty and small reading groups.

Helping out in the lunchroom (opening milk cartons, reminding students to clean up after themselves).  Also, supervision during recess.  

From campus beautification to reading with elementary students, there are plenty of things that you can do on the Losee campus.

Lunchroom help from 11 am - 1 pm daily. Help in the student store, PBIS incentive support, or help with fundraising tables at lunch

Career sharing and reading with students.

Lunchroom help needed daily from 10:25 am - 12:10 pm

Helping children with reading and math facts.

Career Week - Sharing your career experience with students, especially the 5,6 & 7 yr. olds.  1/2 hour sessions from 9am-11am & 1pm-3pm Week TBD

Help with making copies and other office tasks.

Spread the Word Nevada is a nonprofit organization that focuses on literacy programs for students in elementary schools.

Spread the Word has several programs, but we are currently focused on bringing mentors into the Books & Buddies program, and are looking for community members to volunteer one hour a week to provide much needed individual attention to students.

Books & Buddies is a reading program developed to improve literacy skills by partnering students with volunteer mentors acting as reading companions. Working together, the mentor and student focus on improving the child’s reading proficiency, comprehension, and fluency skills.

We are currently looking for mentors to volunteer at the following Las Vegas elementary schools: Ronzone, Detwiler, Martinez, Myrtle Tate, CC Ronnow, and Red Rock.

Please note, mentors must attend a mandatory Orientation session and undergo a background check before they can begin working with children. 

For your convenience we now offer orientations at 2 locations: In Henderson at Spread the Word’s main office, and in Las Vegas at Findlay Honda Centennial. However, if you have a group larger than 10 members, we can set up a training orientation at your location.

CCSD is occasionally looking for guest speakers. If you would be interested please select this need and I will send you a guest speaker interest form from the district.

Grocery Delivery Hero – 1st and 3rd Saturday
 We are asking for volunteers who want to help our homebound seniors by delivering
groceries to them each month. Many times, we are the only people our seniors see
every month, so we are looking for friendly volunteers who want to make a LARGE
impact
 The responsibility of a volunteer delivery driver is to deliver groceries to our registered
clients. Routes consist of 6-8 people with stops no more than 10 minutes away from
each other. Each route is contained within 1 or 2 zip codes depending on distance and
routes take no more than two and half hours. All drivers are given a route as close to
their home as possible. Volunteers would pick up their route and items to be delivered
from our location at 8 am. Drivers will deliver about 40 lbs. of food and paper goods
including nonperishables, produce, bread, and protein. Volunteers return home and
enjoy their weekend after their last stop. This opportunity does require a background
check at no cost to the volunteer.

 Thursday 9AM - Noon
 Good for groups, corporate groups or come as an individual
 Assist in packing food and paper products for our walk-in and homebound senior

Pantry Packer – Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
 Volunteers help pack food orders for our delivery clients. You will be packing 10-20
lbs. of nonperishables that will go out with our volunteer drivers on Saturday. Must be
able to lift 25 lbs., bend, squat, and stand for 3 hours.

Pantry Hero – Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 8:00 AM - Noon
 Assist clients order their groceries online
 Fill client grocery order in the warehouse
 Assist clients in selecting personalized groceries
 Loading groceries into client vehicle
 Packing grocery and paper products for both homebound seniors and walk in clients

We serve 14 locations monthly on scheduled Saturday mornings from 8AM-11AM, and need many teams, families and individuals to help at each location. Volunteers help unload food pallets and distribute those food items to our drive through and walk up clients.

Using your own vehicle and a scheduled route, this shift allows you to deliver a week’s worth of groceries directly to clients’ doorsteps who are unable to leave their residence. Each route typically takes 1-2 hours, and consists of 8-12 deliveries.

Our Community Market is open weekday mornings with 3 hour shifts beginning at 8AM and 10AM. Volunteers help assemble grocery bags and/or distribute them to seniors and families that are picking up from our marketplace.  

This opportunity is to make food bags for homeless high school students.

Project 150's mission is to offer support and services to homeless high school students in the Southern Nevada area so they can stay in school through graduation and build a successful future.
